Week 2 Update
Well, this week I've been doing a lot of wondering! What I've discovered is that I have many questions, and that's a good thing! I've been reading the book, Leading with Passion and Knowledge: The Principal as Action Researcher by Nancy Fichtman Dana. One inquiry mentioned in the book is "How do I put more joy and celebration into our efforts?" When I read that I thought...that's it! To me, that question goes to the heart of everything we do as educators. I told my husband that when I am a principal, I'm going to put that question on a big banner in my office (and maybe in the teacher's lounge, too)! I would love to do action research on this topic because I think the answers that would come out of it would make such a powerful difference on school culture and student performance.

Catharine: I like your topic and I think it is very worthwhile; though I do not work in K-12, I was a very active parent especially when my kids were in elementary school. However I don't ever remember anyone asking me about ways I would have liked to participate or what opportunities I would have appreciated...on to constructive notes, I'm not sure if the goal statement should be the same as the "wondering" that is prompting your project. You might want to consider rewording it to a positive statement about your intended outcome(s). Good luck!
